What is a Supervisor?

The supervisor ensures that elderly deaf citizens receive information on rights and possibilities regarding social and practical aid involving aspects like applying for tools of aid or having someone to come by for weekly visits as well as transportation arrangements to and from døves pensionistklub (the deaf senior citizen club).

The supervisor translates official letters and so forth into sign language.

The supervisor assesses whenever the elderly deaf citizen consults the health care system, doctors, hospital examinations etc. In such matters the supervisor will assist the elderly by acting as a “monitor” and thereupon help the elderly recall what was said, agreed and prescribed.

The supervisor attends any crisis meeting if the elderly falls ill or needs to move into a residential home.
